Each of the more than 4,000 facilities recorded in the facilities inventory system has a facility type code. Table I below lists these codes and their descriptive names.
Table I. Facility type codes in use from July 1, 2023 forward.

| P | Parking |
| Q | Bridge |

| U | Utility and Fuel Sys |

Note that these facility type codes differ from the codes used until June 30, 2023. Table II below lists the previous codes. These facility types were used in conjunction with facility subtype codes which were retired on June 30, 2023.
