Parking on Campus

Transportation Services is like the community’s transportation superhero! We take care of everyone’s commuting and parking needs, from faculty and staff to students and visitors. We make sure traffic flows smoothly and enforce parking rules. Plus, we’ve got a bunch of short-term parking options to suit everyone’s needs.

Getting Started

Parking on Campus Basics

  • There are two ways to park on campus: by permit or payment (short-term parking).
  • Permits are renewed annually and best for those who have a vehicle on campus frequently.
  • Parking rules are enforced whenever the university is open.
  • Keep in mind: Parking is a privilege, not a right.

Having a personal vehicle on campus can be convenient, but keep in mind that parking at Cornell can be difficult, with limited spots and sometimes high costs.

Below are some suggested alternative ways to get around campus

University Holiday Parking

Permit and payment regulations are relaxed during official university holidays. If the university is open for business, permit and payment rules are in effect and will be enforced.
