Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do you have a cut sheet that details what projects should be sent for FM Global review?

Typically we like to see plan review letters for things such as new construction (new buildings or additions), new roofs/reroofing, sprinkler renovations, changes to the water supply and major renovations. Examples of something that would not need plan review is the relocation of a few heads or minor renovations. In general sprinkler work that does not change the overall design of the system is fine, such as changing heads. The key things for some of these smaller projects are not to use plastics in construction and to use FM Approved materials and equipment.

If there is any doubt about a specific project, you can always reach out to plan review and they can let you know if the project should be reviewed. Contact stephen.ruzycky@fmglobal.com
