Facilities Inventory: Finding Rooms to Update

When looking for the list of rooms associated with your area to update, do not use the "Room Search" option from the choices which appear after logging into the facilities inventory system.  Since August 2024, the "Room Search" link does not go to a list of editable pages.  It takes you to the "1.41 Room Inventory" view.  This view of the facilities inventory data is for viewing but not editing.

To find the editable data view, on the red sidebar on the left of the screen at https://facilitiesinventory.cornell.edu, look for the square icon which looks a little like a floor plan, shown in Figure 2 below.

Next select "Views" and the "1.40 Room Updates" view shown with an arrow in Figure 3 below.

The "1.40 Room Updates" view is the place to edit and review or approve rooms.  The "1.41 Room Inventory" view contains the same list of spaces plus all other spaces in buildings where you have at least one room to update; however, the information is not editable.
