Green Building (LEED) Support

Provides information, technical support, and coordination for planners, designers, and contractors working to improve the sustainability of building construction on campus through Green Building programs such as the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC’s) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Program.

    • Support in identifying Cornell specific goals and strategies supporting LEED
    • Flexible “menu” of planning support options
  • Project Designers
    • LEED program coordination and documentation (design credits)
    • Design reviews and coordination
    • Support in identifying and documenting specific Cornell goals and strategies supporting LEED
    • Flexible “menu” of design support options
  • Construction Management
    • LEED program coordination and documentation (construction credits)
    • Documentation review and coordination
    • Support in documenting Cornell-specific construction phase strategies and LEED credits
    • Follow up and interface with USGBC during submittal reviews

Requirements:
Most larger Cornell projects are required to be designed and constructed to at least a LEED Silver® Level and to meet specific energy conservation goals.  Cornell’s Green Building Coordinator and your assigned Project Manager can help guide you in understanding the requirements for your project.  Information on current LEED buildings on campus can be found at: https://fcs.cornell.edu/projects/green-building-leed-support
