New Student Move-In Impacts to Traffic & Parking

students with packing boxes

Significant adjustments to traffic routes and parking are being made to facilitate new student move-in on Aug. 19-21.

Parking will be impacted as students and their families, many visiting the Ithaca for the very first time, make their way around campus for move-in and orientation events. Please consider these conditions when planning your commute, and, if possible, avoid driving on campus:

  • A Lot will be used for move-in staging and queuing vehicles for unloading. Permit holders will be notified of their alternate parking options.
  • Robert Purcell and Bartels Hall parking areas are reserved for student testing and vaccination sites.
  • Travel on Jessup Road and Cradit Farm Drive will be limited to move-in traffic.
  • The central campus Hoy and Forest Home parking garages, University Avenue parking lot, and the outer circle parking lot at Hasbrouck Apts. are open to new student parking during orientation events.
  • Roadways, parking lots, and buses will become congested. Please allow yourself extra time to travel to your destination if you must be on campus.

Please be patient and offer assistance to our newest community members whenever possible. We thank you for your cooperation and partnership.
