βœ… Register or Renew

  • Visit MyParking.Cornell.edu to manage your permit and vehicles.
  • All permit holders must register all personally owned vehicles to their account and associate one vehicle with a virtual permit.

🌐 Continued Transition to Virtual Permits

What’s New:

  • RideShare permits are now virtual.
    • Please note, only one vehicle associated with the Rideshare permit is allowed on campus at a time.
  • Motorcycle permits will remain physical.

We’re also evaluating solutions for live-in staff to invite guests without physical permits.

We aim to eliminate paper communications. Permit holders will be informed of any changes through:

  • Faculty & Staff Newsletter
  • TDS Website
  • Email

Permit Renewal FAQ's

How many vehicles can be associated with a permit?

  • Up to 4 vehicles can be linked to a single permit, but again only one vehicle can be on campus at a time.
  • Vehicles can now be listed on up to 2 permits (for household sharing), but only one can be on campus at a time.

What permit areas are available upon request?

  • Outer Tier: A, E* (no fee)
  • Perimeter Tier: O, R*, ME*, WE*
*Note: Must work in the associated zone.

Can I add a vehicle that is registered to another Cornell Community Member?

You will need to fill out and submit a permit request form below.

What happens if I miss the permit renewal window?

Expired permits cannot be renewed online. Use the Permit Purchase Agreement Form (below) for new requests (especially for A, E, O, or M permits).

What if I want a different permit than the one offered online?

  • Contact Transportation Services:
    πŸ“§ transportation@cornell.edu
    πŸ“ž 607-255-4600
  • Or schedule a meeting to discuss options.
  • You may also submit a Permit Purchase Agreement Form, but availability and eligibility apply.

If I skip renewal, can I get a permit later?

  • Renewal ends June 9th 2025.
  • Permits cannot be reserved or held.
  • Future availability depends on campus demand and usage patterns.
  • Submit a Permit Purchase Agreement Form.
  • If approved, payment defaults to payroll installments, or you'll be contacted for alternatives.
  • Note: Many permits are in high demand and restricted. Submitting a form does not guarantee a permit.

What the current RideShare rates?

When will payroll deduction start for my permit?

  • This is dependent on the purchase date and the current payroll schedule.

What do I do if I drive a different vehicle to campus?

  • Rental car: Email a copy of the rental agreement to register it temporarily.
  • Vehicle owned by someone else: Contact the office for temporary linkage.
