Orientation and Convocation

Parking on Tuesday, August 18

Becoming Big Red New Student Orientation and Family Orientation kick off on Tuesday, August 18 following New Student Move-In. For students and families attending Orientation and Convocation, parking is available in the following lots: 

  • Alumni Field Lot
  • B-Lot
  • TRB Lot
  • Hoy Garage
  • Crescent Lot (accessible parking only)

Families should have their Move-In Ticket displayed on their vehicle dashboard for entry into these restricted lots. Only one car per student/family is permitted. 

 

Getting Around Campus: Walking, TCAT, and Shuttle Service

Once parked, we encourage everyone who is able to walk to the various Orientation events around campus. TCAT is another great way to get around. See real-time bus locations via the MyStop app or online. TCAT is free for first-year students, including first-year graduate and transfer students. Families and guests may also ride for $1.50 per ride.

We will offer a shuttle between the parking areas along Campus Road with stops in Central Campus and North Campus on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. There will also be a shuttle taking people from Convocation to A-Lot on North Campus from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. See Shuttle Services for more information.
