Facilities Inventory: Baseline and Submission Reports for Organized Research

Baseline Report Lists All Facilities Inventory Rooms

A "baseline report" from the facilities inventory group is a formatted data extract of the information in the facilities inventory system.  The report contains a list of all rooms associated with a KFS org code.

Write to the facilities inventory help address at fi-help@cornell.edu and provide the KFS org code and org name of your units and ask for a "baseline report".  For example, the KFS org code and name for the Ithaca-based Department of Entomology is "0139 - CALS Entomology - Ithaca".

While you can use these instructions to download for yourself an Excel list of rooms as they appeared in the facilities inventory system on the previous business day, the baseline report which is not yet available self-service has optimized formatting and contains additional information such any optional seat assignments which have been attached to rooms.

Submission Report Lists Rooms with Organized Research Function Codes

After updating and reviewing all rooms in the facilities inventory system, you can request from the facilities inventory group an extract of the data in the system in a format suitable for creating your organized research substantiation summary report for the Office of Cost and Capital Assets.  This "submission report" will contain a list of only the rooms in the facilities inventory which have some percentage of function code 2.2 or 2.1 for organized research.

Write to the facilities inventory help address at fi-help@cornell.edu and provide the KFS org code and org name of your units and ask for a "submission report".  For example, the KFS org code and name for the Ithaca-based Department of Entomology is "0139 - CALS Entomology - Ithaca".

These reports will only be accurate one business day after you finish making all room updates in the inventory system.  The source of this data is the Oracle Analytics Server datamart which takes data from the inventory system every weekday morning before 7 am.
