I am asking for your approval for me and the Cornell Control Shop to change the network addresses in the eight Automated Logic Corporation HVAC controllers in VMC. The purpose of the address change is to get the controllers onto a standard facility specific subnet created for VMC. I’ve been doing these addresses changes for ALC HVAC controllers in other buildings on campus for more than 2 years now, and they almost always go smoothly. There is very rarely any interruption of HVAC controls, and usually the building occupants are not even aware of the address change activity. The Cornell Control Shop will review the programs in the ALC controllers to identify dependencies between controllers, and minimize the effect of controllers not being able to find each other during the brief interval when they’re being moved from one subnet to another. The anticipated duration of the address change activity is about 3 hours. Please bear in mind that the occupants of VMC probably won’t be aware of the address change activity. There should be no interruption of utilities or HVAC controls for the occupants.
