Hourly & Daily Decision Rate Adjustments

EFFECTIVE AUGUST 25, 2025, CORNELL TRANSPORTATION SERVICES IS MAKING CHANGES TO SHORT-TERM PARKING

NO CHANGES TO ANNUAL PARKING PERMIT RATES
THIS PLAN FOCUSES ON IMPROVING ACCESS AND TURNOVER FOR SHORT-TERM AND OCCASIONAL PARKING NEEDS ON CAMPUS.

Background:
After a four-year review of the Daily Decision Parking Program, with stakeholders and through data analysis, it was found that the low costs of the program led to unsustainable demand and did not meet the program's goals - to offer flexible access to those without annual permits (occasional commuters), such as faculty, staff, and students with variable or hybrid schedules, as well as for short-term employee access, visitors, and departmental business needs. The following rate changes are based on the above-mentioned evaluation.
⏱ Hourly Parking Rate Updates
To promote space turnover, manage parking availability, reduce congestion in high-demand areas and support operational costs, select campus lots will see updated hourly pricing:

•    Crescent Lot (Zone 4131):
o    $3.00/hour (10 AM – 3 PM), $1.50/hour off-peak
•    Bartels Lot (Zone 4112):
o    $3.00/hour (10 AM – 3 PM), $1.50/hour off-peak
•    Peterson Lot (Zone 4122):
o    Remains $1.50/hour, with a new 3-hour time limit

📅 Daily Decision Program Adjustments
To manage demand in high-use lots, the following rate changes will apply:
•    Oxley Lot (Zone 4111): $5.00/day
•    TRB Lot (Zone 4108): $5.00/day

NEW: The Occasional Commuter Parking (OCP) program for faculty and staff allows flexible, daily parking access for employees who do not hold annual permits in employee-only lots.
