Facilities Inventory: Adding People to Rooms

There are a number of different places to specify which people are associated with each room.

Note that it is only possible to add people who are of the following types using most of these methods:

In other words, the available list of people which you can add does not include undergraduate or graduate students.  The list does also does not include people who have left the university, for example, because they have retired or are no longer employed by Cornell University.

Optional Names on the Floor Plans

If you would like to see a list of faculty or staff associated with a particular room on a floor plan, then add the room occupants under "Seat Assignments".

This process is entirely optional.  You are not responsible as part of the facilities inventory annual updates to maintain or enter this information.  Perhaps your department will find it useful.  It is not required.

You can search the names which have been entered as "Seat Assignments" using the search bar at the very top right of the screen.  For example, 

Brief Room Info

Because there was no other easy place to enter and view this descriptive information, it has been a common practice to list the room occupant in the "Brief Room Info".  You can continue to do this.  A view of the floor plan

You can search the text which has been entered in "Brief Room Info" in either of these views.
