Facilities Inventory: Floor Plan Not Displaying Room Sharing

Back to Facilities Inventory documentation

Last updated: February 27, 2024

Floor plans in the facilities inventory combine room outlines with information stored and updated annually.  One of the floor plan views entitled "  " colors the interior of spaces according to the KFS orgs which have been associated with the room.  In more than 2,000 rooms, more than one department shares the room.

In February 2024, this view is not displaying shared rooms correctly.  The coloring of shared rooms is mistakenly displaying the color for just one of the departments.

Figure 1 below shows a room where two departments share the room.  Instead of showing the room so that the space is colored proportional to the sharing percentage, this view currently lacks any display of the color for one of the departments.

Shared rooms on floor plans display the color of just one of the sharing departments

Figure 1.  Room 212 is shared by the Facilities Inventory group at 13 percent and "Engineering" at 87 percent.  The floor plan view called "Department Org" is coloring the whole space is if "Engineering" occupied it 100 percent.

This error appears to affect all rooms shared by more than one department.
